  1. Great photos Chuck. I read some great books about the Lewis &Clark adventures–you are right in the middle of your own. I don’t know if I told you that my son-in-law, Tyler, is a firefighter in Alameda County up near San Francisco. He just got back from 2 weeks fighting a fire in Quincey No. Of Tahoe . Not easy work . I thought of him, Yarnell from last yrs ride and you while I was donating to backStoppers this morning. Thanks for riding for such a great cause . By the way– how did you get involved with the BackStoppers cause?

  2. Hi Jim, I do remember you talking about your son-in-law and his occupation. Very dangerous and difficult work. Going through Yarnell is very emotional for me. You tend to build a sense of community with these towns we travel through. You can see the devastation the loss of these 19 brave young men had on Yarnell and Prescott. Backstoppers is big in St. Louis and my feeling was these folks are underpaid and overworked and very under-appreciated. There is a tendency by the press to paint them all in a negative light. In one sense, I view them as the primary role of government and that is the protection of its citizens on home turf. Many thanks Jim you are a class act!
