due to quite a few crashes, the flu and a couple of killer cycling days, i am 95% sure that my ride is over.

Chuck, that sounds like a very wise decision under the circumstances, which came as a surprise to me! That was an awesome undertaking. Feel better soon. Come to Mallorca in Mar!

  3. Chuck you are still the hero of Sherbrooke Meadows!

  4. I can’t imagine how one could ride this course being injured or sick, let alone both! You’ve endured a lot of stress just to toe the starting line. You’re a strong and determined cyclist who just needed some good luck on his side. Based on what I’ve read and watched about riding the Great Divide trail, having good fortune is as important as preparation. Remember this Chuck, all this shit would have killed a normal man. πŸ˜‰

    • Thanks very much Herm. I felt better the next day and so I kept going. I overestimated by ability and underestimated how hard this is, but I am still riding. I think you will enjoy the update from Day 5 when I can post. My good fortune is having some great support from friends both on the road and at home. I actually feel better now than any time on the ride. The cold lasted only a couple of days and the body pain subsided.

  5. Polay Asauna Chuck!
I am very proud of the effort that you made to make it work. πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸš΄β€β™€οΈβœ¨πŸ’«πŸ˜Š

  6. So sorry you have to quit the ride !
But you have to listen to your body, and you gave it your best shot.
And quite a shot it must have been😁

  7. Great job still!! Now come on home.

  8. Cindy and I am sorry to hear this . You are amazing for what you have done. We could not have done it.
