Good evening,
I’d like to report that today’s ride was uneventful compared to prior days – no major excitement.
I did have the pleasure of meeting Ron M, whom I met on Silicon Investor. Ron flagged me down in Sedona and we had a cup of coffee and nice (but too brief) conversation. Ron is a Vietnam War Vet, originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin and now resides in beautify Sedona. Ron works diligently in Sedona for our Veterans and was instrumental in getting recognition programs and activities set up. Ron also advised a good place to eat in Flagstaff but for the live of me can’t remember the name? Ron care to chime in again? Many thanks for spending some time with me!
I seemed to have navigated from the front of the pack to the back of the pack. Our riders go out in two groups separated by about 30 minutes or so. Part of the reason is to keep us closer together which makes it much easier to monitor our safety and ovation. It seems that I threw a monkey wrench in that. I asked Carol, if anyone was behind me and she said “no”. It makes for a longer day for them the greater the disparity in our arrival time. The crew makes sure that we all get in safe. I can’t emphasize enough the great work our crew does in supporting and motivating us.
I will post a few photos of the ride up Oak Creek Canyon. It was a long climb but not took steep. Quite a bit of traffic that was well behaved and considerate of the cyclists. The Drury Inn that we are staying at is really nice and brand new. Since we are “resting” tomorrow, e took advantage of the 3 free drinks and food and partied in the lobby. The hotel is “dog friendly” and there were almost as many dogs as people. They all seemed well behaved.
Well that is about all for today. The red rocks of the canyon are something to behold. Jerome and Sedona are definite places that I’d like to come back and visit.
Ciao
Chuck

Chuck; The restaurant was Brix– a great place.
Thanks Ron- I will see if we can check it out.
I have vacationed in Sedona a couple times. It’s considered the most beautiful place in North America. I can’t disagree!
Hi Charlie,
Judging by all the Tour and Adventure trucks it seems that a lot of folks would agree. There are a lot of motorcycles here here as well. It was 28 degrees yesterday morning in Flagstaff so you an tell a big difference in the 15 miles of climb up Oak Creek Canyon. We hit Sedona early and I doubt it was under 60 there Amazing what a few thousand feet of elevation change do for the topography and temperatures… Did you visit Jerome while you were here?
send money LOL. have fun and come back whole
Unfortunately I spent all my money on the trip but insurance is paid up…..
